“Just B,” the cover line reads. “Beyoncé and the art of global domination.”
The cover, which is Beyoncé’s third for the fashion magazine, is also particularly monumental. It is the third time a black woman has been featured on her own, afterNaomi Campbell in 1989, and Halle Berry in 2010.
And fashion designers didn’t hesitate to weigh in on why Bey deserves such a coveted cover.
“The word diva is used for so many female performers, and it often means they have reputations for being difficult, but she exudes charm and a lovable quality,” Marc Jacob ssaid about Bey.
“She’s the whole package: primal, rare, delicate, beautiful, and powerful,” Stella McCartney” says. “Her appeal crosses art forms, genders, and generations.”
“There is a magnetic presence to her,” Riccardo Tisci add.
